Ram Wins Top Awards at Texas Truck Rodeo

Ram vehicles took top awards at the 2014 Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo. Well over 60 TAWA judges cast votes for the rodeo, during a two-day competition which included both off and on road driving evaluations. The organization studied design, value, utility and technology within detailed scoring categories, in addition to general capability of the vehicles.



The TAWA president, Michael Marrs, spoke about the extraordinary lineup of products brought to the Truck Rodeo by the Chrysler Group. He enthused about the quality and performance of the Ram products, especially their continually impressive, innovative qualities that are tough for other automotive brands to beat.

� Bob Hegbloom, the President and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC., spoke about the importance of Ram's success since becoming its own brand five years ago and and having since become a stand out in the truck market. Speaking about the fuel economy and capability of Ram trucks, and their success in winning back-to-back awards from the Texas Auto Writers Association, he reaffirmed Ram's monumental decision to become an independent brand. Emerging as a distinct identity continues to allow Ram to focus on its specific customer base, integrating the features their consumers find most valuable. Since it launched as an independent division of Chrysler Group LLC, in 2009, the brand has over the years cemented itself as an leader in the industry. Committing to durability, capability, efficiency and innovation, Ram Trucks continue to be at the top of their class competition in the two most important categories to their consumer; towing capacity and fuel economy.

The 2015 Ram 1500 holds the top two spots for fuel economy with the EPA in the half-ton pickup truck category. Not only does the 1500 boast fuel efficiency, it also features TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission, pulse-width modulation, stop-start system, and active aerodynamics.

The 2014 Ram 2500, 3500 Heavy Duty and Ram Power Wagon are the most capable heavy-duty pickup trucks in their class, featuring titles and segments which highlight their unbeatable capability in towing, payload, power and capacity. The Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks also include a 5-link coil suspension with optional air suspension, in addition to a supplemental air bag suspension option. Ram remains the only truck manufacturer to feature SAEJ2807 compliance, in regards to both heavy-duty and light-duty truck segments.

The categories in which Ram won are as follows; "Heavy Duty Truck of Texas" for the 2015 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty;�"Off-road Truck of Texas" for the 2015 Ram Power Wagon.
