Tips to make the most out of your fall road trip
The temperatures are dropping, the leaves are changing color and this time of the year the foliage outside of cities is so gorgeous that we all want to get out on the road and enjoy the beauty with our family. Early fall is wonderful for road trips because the weather is perfect and there is no need to worry about slippery roads.
Whether your family is heading apple picking or to a sunflower farm this fall, here are 3 tips that would help you to make the most of your fall road trip:
Stop at scheduled lookout points.
Before you leave for your trip, make sure to plan which scenic lookout points you would like to stop to take photos and enjoy the view. You can do research or ask friends and family to recommend some of their favorites. Make sure to enter them into your navigation as part of your trip so that you can easily find your way there and get back to traveling to your destination.
Wear all weather shoes.
While fall isn't like spring with frequent unexpected showers, outdoor activities such as pumpkin and apple picking are on farms and sometimes there is mud that can ruin shoes that are not appropriate. All weather shoes are perfect because you will be comfortable and it's easy to wash them out before getting back into the car to avoid dirtying the car.
Keep it short.
Driving to different areas may mean driving into different climates from your hometown. During the fall, keep road trips on the shorter side (3 hours max) to avoid going to areas with weather that can have potentially dangerous road conditions such as icy roads.
Keeping these 3 tips in mind would make your next road trip much more enjoyable. Wherever you're headed this fall, enjoy the trip!
