With the rise of electric vehicles in the automotive industry, Ram is tossing its hat in the ring with the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept. Ram didn't hold back with the concept, aiming to achieve the most convenient, spacious, advanced, and, most importantly, capable electric-powered truck on the market. By not following EV trends, the Revolution doesn't just push the expectations of Ram trucks; it pushes the expectations consumers have from electric vehicles. Please continue reading below as we give you a first look at the all-electric Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept!

Capability of the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept

As electric power becomes more prominent, it's become common knowledge that, rather than hinder performance and capability, electric power increases the on and off-road performance of the vehicle. The main reason for this is the instantaneous torque. Rather than wait for fuel and air to ignite in the cylinder and RPMs to increase to provide the power being requested, electrons are constantly flowing, making the power immediately available without any hesitation or delay. Power from the Ram 1500 Revolution's EV system is sent to all four wheels using two electric drive modules (EDMs), one near the front of the vehicle and another towards the rear. In addition to the all-wheel drive, this maximizes the space in the front trunk, or frunk, as well as cabin space. The truck is designed to accommodate even larger EDMs for future high-performance applications. Using an 800-volt DC fast charger with up to 350 kW, the Ram 1500 Revolution can add up to 100 miles of range in as little as ten minutes. Greater maneuverability on off-road trails or during parking for the Ram 1500 Revolution is provided by four-wheel steering, allowing for up to 15 degrees of articulation.

Ram 1500 Revolution Exterior Design

The design team for the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept set out with a goal of disregarding many traditional pickup truck designs. In fact, the only features that the concept truck uses that match traditional trucks are the cabin and bed design. Everything else about the truck is completely rethought and modernized to capture the future of the brand and industry as a whole. The Ram 1500 Revolution stands confidently and boasts heroic strength with a high and wide stance, dramatic lines, and an updated 'RAM' badge occupying the center of the front fascia. On either side of the modernized emblem, you'll see "tuning fork" LED headlights. The lower part of the front fascia cascades into a front skid plate. Meanwhile, the front bumper offers swiveling tow hooks that can fold flush with the bumper when not in use. Since there's now gas-powered engine under the hood, the space is used for additional storage, called a frunk. The frunk of the Ram 1500 Revolution offers a power one-touch open and close function for ease of use. The Revolution comes with saloon-style doors, with the front and rear doors opening in opposite directions without a B-pillar, putting the expansive cabin on full display. Designers cleverly placed LED lights on the bumper flares and badges, extending the modern look. Many exterior features of the Ram 1500 Revolution are powered, including the side steps, tailgate, rear step, charge-port door, and flush-mounted door handles.

Interior Design of the Ram 1500 Revolution

Interior designers of the first-ever Ram BEV created a continuous space from the front of the cabin to the rear, enabling a wide variety of interior layout options. Whether you need cargo space for gear for an adventure or a mobile workspace, the Ram 1500 Revolution can facilitate your needs. The location and size of the battery, combined with the new structure, provide increased cabin length and more interior space. The all-new Ram Track is a rail attachment and floor track system, providing flexible layouts by repositioning the console and seats. Other usable storage features and tie-down points are also included. Full front-to-rear flexibility is provided by the Ram Track in the frunk and bed. The Ram 1500 Revolution features industry-first third-row jump seats. The jump seats are mounted on the power mid-gate and have a removable lower section to create more storage space. The mid-gate also features a powered glass pane, enabling full pass-through from the bed into the frunk, allowing the truck to take on objects up to 18 feet in length, even when the multi-function tailgate is closed!
