The 2023 Dodge Hornet is a landmark for the brand in many ways. One of the major ways that the Hornet is expanding the Dodge lineup is with its all-new selection of engine options. There are two trim levels in the 2023 Dodge Hornet range, and each one has a different engine to experience. The first trim, the R/T, is the first-ever plug-in hybrid offered by the Dodge brand! Under the hood of the R/T, you'll find a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 285 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. There are also two electric motors that help power the R/T, and those connect to a 15.5 kWh rechargeable battery. The other trim level is the GT, which has an all-new Hurricane engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 rated at 265 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both of these powertrains offer improved fuel efficiency without sacrificing power!
What are the Dodge Hornet's Performance Features?
Just like other Dodge vehicles you know and love, the 2023 Dodge Hornet has a wealth of performance features that give you an enhanced driving experience! The engine options for the Dodge Hornet might be different, but there are many features that you'll probably recognize from other Dodge models. For example, the Hornet offers Brembo high-performance brakes, complete with bold red calipers. It also features race-inspired features like a flat-bottomed steering wheel, paddle shifters, and Performance Pages, accessible on the infotainment touchscreen. When you opt for the R/T trim, you'll also have the benefit of a new feature known as the PowerShot. When you press the PowerShot button, your R/T will deliver an instant boost of 25 horsepower to help you accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 6.1 seconds.
What are the Dodge Hornet's Other Features?
The Dodge Hornet has so much to offer in terms of its design. This model is the first compact-utility vehicle offered by the Dodge brand, and it has a different silhouette than you've seen before on other Dodge models. It's larger than the Charger sedan, but still more compact than the Durango SUV. In terms of design features, you can find available color options like a black-and-red scheme complete with a racing stripe, as well as blue and gold hues. These bright colors are a signature for the brand. Other features for both the R/T and GT include standard black seats with red accent stitching, and available features like leather upholstery, and red seatbelts. You can also opt for the Black Top package, which adds black accents inside and out.
