In the 2021 model year, the Grand Cherokee can be powered by one of four engines. The base engine is a powerful 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that pumps out up to 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you choose the Trailhawk, Overland or Summit trim, you can opt for the available 5.7-liter V8 engine that creates 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Found under the hood of the SRT trim is a 6.4-liter V8 that generates 470 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. The last engine powers the Trackhawk trim level. This immensely powerful supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine cranks out 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque. All engines are mated to an automatic 8-speed transmission and two drivetrain configurations are available, RWD and 4WD.
