2018 Challenger Demon's Supercharged V8

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon's Performance

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the most powerful muscle car ever produced on this planet, and do you know why that is? It is because it comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V-8 engine, which produces 770 lb-ft of torque and 840 horsepower! Continue reading to learn more about all the power that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon can provide to you if you choose to buy this car!

The Challenger SRT Demon's Engine

The car's engine has a large supercharger: 2.7 liters! It offers increased boost pressure, being 14.5 psi. You will have two dual-stage fuel pumps, as opposed to one in most other vehicles. Your RPM limit with this engine and vehicle will be 6,500 rpm. This engine comes with a large induction air box with three intake air sources: an Air-Grabber hood, a driver-side Air-Catcher headlamp, and an inlet near the wheel liner.

You might be wondering about what the Air-Grabber hood is, and that is sealed to the airbox, which is also fed from the Air-Catcher headlamp and the inlet near the wheel liner (both mentioned above). Because of all these features, the Demon's engine gets an air-flow rate of 1,150 cubic feet per minute. This is the largest air induction volume of any production car!

You can count on having an SRT Power Chiller, which is a first for a production car. Air flows through a chiller unit, where it is cooled a great deal. When you shut off the car, heat soak effects are minimized in the engine because of the After-Run Chiller. The After-Run Chiller keeps both the engine cooling fan and the low-temperature circuit coolant pump running to lower the supercharger/charge air cooler's temperature.

More About the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon's Power

This car is designed to run on 100+ unleaded high-octane fuel, which will not hurt the engine! This type of fuel is available at many drag strips, specialty shops and select gas stations. The SRT Demon has dual fuel pumps. The vehicle has a standard TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission, which comes with an increased lockup speed.

You can power this car through an Auto (Street) Mode, which makes it so that you can use Eco Mode if desired. You will also have a Drag Mode, which optimizes the car's electronic stability control for straight-line acceleration. If you choose to use the available Custom Mode, you will be allowed to combine features of both the Auto and Drag Modes.
